Station 8 units were dispatched to Box Area 8-2 at 12:32 PM, for a Motor Vehicle Collision in the area of Middleburg Road and Union Bridge Road. Paramedic 89 arrived on scene to find a single vehicle off of the roadway and into a chicken coup. The vehicle had ran off of the roadway, sheared a telephone pole and came to a stop into the side of the chicken coup. The chicken coup received only minor damage and was no longer being used for housing chickens.
Rescue Squad 8 arrived on scene and the crew assisted Paramedic 89 in removing the patient from the vehicle while the crew from Engine 81 provided traffic control. The Carroll County Sheriffs Office and Maryland State Police were on the scene to investigate the incident. Paramedic 89 transported one patient to Carroll Hospital Center. Rescue Squad 8 and Engine 81 cleared the scene at 1:04 PM.
