Union Bridge, MD (July 20, 2025) – In a thrilling showdown at the 6th Annual Anchored Mini Boat Parade held at Flood Zone Marketplace and Brewery from July 16–20, the Union Bridge Fire Company secured victory in the career fire department category, taking home the prestigious Agnes Cup. The competition, part of a beloved community fundraiser benefiting both Union Bridge and New Windsor fire departments, featured imaginative miniature boats anchored in Little Pipe Creek, with donations and votes fueling the friendly rivalry.

Throughout the weekend, attendees supported their favorite fire department boats by voting with cash donations. When the final tally was announced Sunday afternoon, Union Bridge edged out New Windsor to claim the Cup — which the winning department displays with pride until next year. Festivities included a boat launch party, music, a paint night, a dunk tank, and live entertainment, creating a festival-like atmosphere that drew strong community cheers.

Organizers reported that 100% of proceeds, from sponsorships to dunk booth donations, directly supported the local fire departments. As flood-zone-friendly craft were celebrated, so too were the hometown heroes who keep the community safe.
