At 18:02, Carroll County 911 recieved a call for a truck on fire inside of a garage at 4450 Priestland Rd. At 18:03, Box 8-5 was dispatched. Engine 101 was first to check-up responding along with Chief 8(Chad Green). As Chief 8 approached the scene, dispatch advised that there was someone trapped in the house. He quickly determined that the Jeep Cherokee Sport that was reported to be in the garage, was in fact, not in the garage but was fully involved. He also determined that the house and garage were not attached and that there was no one trapped in the home. By-standers had also moved a broken down pick-up truck and camping trailer that were near the burning Cherokee.
Chief 8 then assumed 'Priestland Rd Command' while Engine 101 began extinguishment of the vehicle with an 1 3/4" line and Engine 81 pulled a second line to insure that no fire had extended into the garage and to provide back-up. 'Priestland Rd. Command' began to downsize the incident within moments of the extinguishment of the vehicle by holding Engine 81 and Engine 101.
The owner of the vehicle was unable to advise what may have started the fire, so Command requested a Fire Marshal to contact him. Units repacked hose after overhaul was completed and returned to service. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Units were in-service within 30 minutes.
