March 15, 2023

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Fire Company and Ladies Auxiliary member Marion L. Jordan. She first became a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and later a non-responding member in the Fire Company in 1999, along with her late husband Lou Jordan. She was a huge advocate of our company, helping with countless fundraisers and events, and served in several different administrative offices within the Ladies Auxiliary.

The officers and members of the Union Bridge Fire Company, Inc. extend our heartfelt condolences to the Vallone and Jordan families.

Marion L. Jordan, 76, of Union Bridge, died Monday, March 13, 2023 at Carroll Hospital Center. Born May 3, 1946 in Jersey City, NJ she was the daughter of the late Frank Vallone and Mary Heule Vallone. She was the wife of Louis Carl Jordan who died in 2017. Before retiring she worked in accounting for many years. She was a business partner with her husband, owning and operating Emergency Training Associates in Taneytown, where she handled all accounting functions. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church and the Union Bridge Vol. Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. Marion enjoyed gardening, birds, crafting, going to bingo, golfing, and boat racing. She was previously a treasurer for APBA Region 3 and for both the Lake Hopatcong Racing Association, and the Greenwood Lake Power Boat Association. She also served as scorer for many years. Her love for cooking and baking carried over to her duties with the Ladies Auxiliary, where she was affectionately known as "the apple cake lady". Surviving are step children Karen Hubbard and husband James of Hampstead, Joseph Jordan and wife Kristine of Westminster, Jennifer Jordan and husband Barry of Fallston, Dale Jordan of Holiday, FL, 7 step-grandchildren, 1 step great-grandchild, siblings Carol Richmond and husband Charles of TX, Frances Curley and husband Michael, Anthony Vallone and wife Theresa, and Ann Deublein all of New Jersey. Also surviving are 10 nieces and nephews, and 13 great-nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 6, 2023, from 11 am until time of memorial service 12 noon at Hartzler Funeral Home, 6 E. Broadway St., with Deacon Charles Barnhart officiating. Inurnment will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Uniontown. Memorial contributions may be made to the Union Bridge Fire Co., PO Box 1050, Union Bridge, MD 21791. The family invites you to leave a message or memory on her "tribute wall" at www.hartzlerfunrealhome.com.
