GLOSSARY OF POSITION TITLES
This glossary explains the responsibilities for each of the Administrative Officers of the Union Bridge Fire Company, Inc.
President: Responsible for all administrative duties performed; presides over all company meetings and does so under the Constitution and By-Laws of the Union Bridge Fire Company.
Vice President: Responsible for all administrative duties performed in the absence of the President; is the Chairman of the Board of Directors; maintains all company records of the membership roster and does so under the Constitution and By-Laws of the Union Bridge Fire Company.
Board of Directors: Responsible to review and interview new membership applications; adjudicates all formal complaints received from the President regarding personnel issues; reviews Active Membership Status' annually; appoints officers to vacant elected Offices; approves all appointed positions; reviews, updates and submits proposals concerning the Constitution and By-Laws of the Union Bridge Fire Company, Inc.; conducts an annual audit of the company Treasury; reviews all nominations to Active Honorary Lifetime/Honorary Memberships.
Secretary: Responsible for keeping true and accurate records and/or minutes for all company meetings; handles all correspondence of the company; maintains the Union Bridge Fire Company, Inc. Seal.
Recording Secretary: Responsible for maintaining records for the Length Of Service Award Program (LOSAP) for all members; maintains Service Award records; takes roll call of membership during company meetings.
Treasurer: Responsible for maintaining all monies received and payment of all bills and keeping note of all receipts and disbursements; prepares and submits annual budgets
Assistant Treasurer: Responsible to assist the Treasurer as needed for monthly and annual duties; vehicle tag applications; maintains all monies received and payments of all bills keeping note of all receipts and disbursements in the absence of the Treasurer and under the direction of the President.
Trustees: Responsible for all maintenance and repair of the company's building properties; authority to loan such properties; reviews all contracts for the purchase of building equipment or supplies by members; any other duties assigned by the company.
Executive Committee: Responsible to attend Carroll County Volunteer Emergency Services Association meetings and report that information to the company membership during company meetings; are delegates to both county and state association conventions; provides company mandated votes to those organizations when needed.
Chaplain: Responsible to provide for the spritual welfare of the membership; represent the company at any function this company may direct.
