Passing of Retired Honorary Life Member Scott W. Davis

It is with profound sadness, the Union Bridge Fire Company, Inc. announces the passing of Retired Honorary Life Member Scott “Scotty” W. Davis on September 21, 2026. Scotty was born on October 7, 1928. He was a member of our company for just over 80 years, one of the longest serving members, joining the fire company on June 4, 1946.

Scotty served in many different capacities over those 80 years to include an emergency responder, driver, Fire Chief, President as well as many other administrative and chairman positions. He was also involved with the construction of the 8 W. Locust Street Fire Station/Hall in the 1960’s, being one of many members who actually helped to build the fire station.

Scotty also served as President of the Carroll County Volunteer Firemen’s Association (1962-63) and is a Carroll County Volunteer Emergency Services Association “Hall of Fame” inductee (2003). He helped at countless fundraisers including Sunday Breakfasts, Bingo’s and the food stand during our annual carnivals and other events.

Scotty was employed by and retired from the Lehigh Portland Cement Company in Union Bridge. He also served as the Town Police Chief in the late 1960’s for a short time, and a Union Bridge Town Councilman in the 1980’s.

Scotty was well known for his quick witted comic relief around town and in the fire company. The Company extends our heartfelt condolences to family and friends of Scotty.
