Box 5-17. At 04:51 hours, Station 5 and 8 were dispatched for a shed fire in the 4900 block of West Feeser Road, outside of Taneytown. Engine/Tanker 54 arrived to find a shed fully involved and about 50 feet from the back of the residential home. The shed primarily contained firewood and some other miscellaneous items. The crew used an 1 3/4" attack line to knock the fire down within minutes.

Units were held on the scene for over an hour to complete overhaul and final extinguishment using the CAFS system from Engine 52. Engine 81 provided additional water for Engine 52. The cause of the fire is believed to be a space heater used to help keep domestic animals warm. The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office was on-scene to investigate.

No injuries were reported. Engine 81 returned to service at about 06:30 hours.
