Frederick County Box 17-42. At 16:46 hrs., Station 8 units were dispatched to assist Frederick County Station 17 for a large field and house fire with an attached garage at 14634 Peddicord Road. First arriving units found fire showing and requested the “Rapid Intervention Dispatch” as well as a “Tanker Task Force”. An initial interior attack was made and firefighters encountered 'hoarding conditions', eventually causing an evacuation of firefighters. Firefighters also encountered 'hoarding conditions" on the outside of the structure and multiple exposures including a dump truck, sheds and trailers on fire. Another "Tanker Task Force" was requested after the evacuation.

Crews switched tactics to fight the fire using a “Defensive Attack”. Crews used handlines and an elevated master stream to contain and extinguish the fires. Water supply was established at a near-by pond.

The residents were not in the house at the time of the fire and there were no injuries reported. The structure was a total loss. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Frederick County Fire Marshals Division.
