Fire House Paint Job!

On October 5, members of the fire company began a painting project to "freshen-up" the front of the building. The last painting of the building was in 1997.

Just before the carnival this year, the back of the building was painted by a painting contractor. Considering the cost to complete the rest of the building, it was decided that the members should get together one day and complete the rest of the painting on the front and east side.

About 10 members began the paint job at 9 AM and finished up at around 3 PM. Though it was a little cool and breezy (40 degrees F) when we started, it soon warmed up to about 68 F, making it a perfect day for painting. In all, it took about 15 gallons of wall paint and 3 gallons of trim paint. With the members doing the work, it was estimated that the company saved about $5000.

Thanks to those who helped to give the fire station a much needed make-over.
