At around 4 AM on Tuesday, December 3rd, Box 7-1 was dispatched for a "Church Fire" at the Lazarus United Church of Christ at 5101 South Church Street in Lineboro. First arriving units found heavy fire through the roof of the 160 year old church and requested the 'Working Fire Dispatch' and a 'Tanker Task Force'.

With shortages of manpower on initially dispatched units, back-up units were dispatched. Units from Carroll County, Baltimore County and York County, responded to the multiple alarm fire. Crews fought the fire "defensively", meaning that no one went inside the church to fight fire. Multiple master streams, large amounts of supply line and tanker shuttles were used to extinguish the fire.

At 5 AM, "Carroll" began dispatching multiple stations at a time in an effort to cover fire stations on the east side of the county. Union Bridge was able to get crews together by around 5:30 AM, one crew to transfer and one crew to stay in Union Bridge. A transfer assignment to Station 4 (Manchester) was given to the crew on Engine/Tanker 82.

"Command" advised the fire was "under Control" at around 6 AM, with extensive overhaul and final extinguishment needed. Maryland State Fire Marshals and ATF Investigators responded to the incident as well. Engine/Tanker 82 covered this unusual transfer assignment at Station 4 from 6:15 AM until 2:40 PM and was not dispatched to any incidents while there.
