By Lieutenant 8-2 Christopher Harris
December 2, 2011

The John Armiger Scholarship Fund, Inc. is pleased to announce the first round of scholarships available for the Spring 2012 semester. Scholarship application details are attached. The fund was established to honor the Armiger's for their generosity to the families of police officers, firefighters, and correctional officers who died in service to the citizens of Maryland. As owners of Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens, located in Timonium, Maryland, John Armiger, Sr. set aside the Fallen Heroes Section of the cemetery in 1976 to both inter, and honor, our fallen comrades. In 1986 John Armiger, Jr. held the first observance of Fallen Heroes Day to honor those public safety officers who died in the line of duty. The tradition continues each year on the first Friday of May.
As a trustee of the fund, I ask that you make the attached information available to your membership as we move forward in developing future leaders dedicated to protecting and serving our citizens.
